What To Do When Dehydrated

This morning is kinda cooler than the past few weeks. Summer in Japan hits an incredibly high temperature this year that many are treated and even died of dehydration. A child in one of the prefectures died abruptly upon playing in a nearby park, so we as residents and living here must take extra precautions and monitor on how we are dealing with the heatwave.

Always have a dehydration kit ready. Salt candies, sports-drink, water. Always set the air conditioner to a 27-28 degrees Celsius.

WHAT TO DO WHEN DEHYDRATION STRIKES AT HOME

  • Rest.
  • Rehydrate using salt candy and water. Gradually drink water while having salt candy, having so much would only make you bloated.
  • Monitor your body temperature.
  • To lower your body temps, get ice from the freezer and wrap it with a small face towel and put it on both sides of the neck (temperature lowers much faster this way)
  • If feeling extreme dizziness  or numbness in the body happens, call Emergency as soon as possible
If the temperature outside hits 32-35 better not go outside or take extra precautions when traveling. Having fun during summer in Japan takes a lot of things to consider. But once you are used and takes proper preparation, it is possible.
Enjoy summer. Take lots of care❤️
